As previously announced, Techtrrrs is responsible for handling applications for the Diversity programme of .concat(), a new conference focusing on web development set to take place in Salzburg, Austria, on 7 March 2015.
We want to encourage all members of under-represented groups in IT and tech who are interested in attending the conference but who cannot afford to purchase a ticket to apply for a sponsored ticket. (For those who do not know: the typical audience at local tech events is comprised of mostly white, heterosexual, able-bodied, cisgender men with a middle or upper-class upbringing and Austrian, German or other non-disadvantaged ethnic origin.)
If you belong to an under-represented group and do not have the money to attend .concat() — note there are also student tickets available for a greatly reduced price —, do consider applying for a Diversity Ticket! The application process has already started and a certain quota of Diversity Tickets is being awarded on a rolling basis, so the sooner you let us know you need a sponsored ticket, the better (we are keeping back some tickets for a little longer though so everyone gets a fair chance of being considered).
If you know potential sponsors for more Diversity Tickets and financial aid for travel/accommodation, please refer them to this blog post.
